Children's Presumptive Eligibility (CPE)
As of July 1, 2024, the CHDP gateway presumptive eligibility services will continue under the new "Children's Presumptive Eligibility" (CPE) program.
CPE eligibility
- Qualified Presumptive Eligibility (PE) Providers (QP) include the following:
- CPE Providers
- Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE) Providers
- Presumptive Eligibility for Pregnant Women (PE4PW) Providers
CPE enrollment
- CPE Portal
- Provider enrollments not completed through CHDP will need to sign up for CPE in the Medi-Cal Provider Portal on or after July 1, 2024.
- CPE training is mandated for all QP.
- Newborn Gateway Presumptive Eligibility (NGPE)
- To launch July 1, 2024
- Participation in the Newborn Gateway and the NGPE training are mandatory for all QP.
CPE computer-based training
- Providers must register through the Medi-Cal Learning Portal (MLP)
